Shocking Health & Safety Violations Found in Rheda-Wiedenbrück Catering Establishments

Authorities in Rheda-Wiedenbrück recently conducted a joint control action, uncovering serious health and safety violations in local catering establishments. The inspection, involving multiple agencies, revealed shocking conditions in some snack bars and restaurants, including unsanitary chipotle recipes preparation in an Asian snack bar using a bathtub, and mouse droppings indicating a serious rodent infestation in another establishment. Several restaurants were found to have converted staff washrooms into sleeping areas, posing significant safety risks and lacking proper escape routes and fire extinguishers. Previous control measures in September 2025 had also uncovered violations against health and safety laws, although specific details were not available. Multiple social security and alien law violations were discovered in fast-food outlets during the recent action. Future joint control actions in Rheda-Wiedenbrück are expected to continue uncovering violations and crimes in the catering industry. While compliance with identity document obligations has improved since April, the recent findings highlight the need for stricter enforcement and improved hygiene standards to ensure the safety of both customers and employees.
