SSS & RCBC Launch MySSS Card: A Debit Card for Benefits & Banking
The Social Security System (SSS) and PNC Bank have collaborated to introduce the MySSS Card, a debit card powered by PNC's DiskarTech. This card combines SSS benefits with digital banking features, offering convenience and accessibility to SSS members.
The MySSS Card functions like a standard debit card, enabling various financial transactions. Cardholders can access and withdraw their SSS benefits and other proceeds through the DiskarTech app. The associated DiskarTech account comes with a savings product, access to microinsurance, and allows for bank transfers to other banks and e-wallets for a PHP 8.00 fee.
The card can be used as a tap-to-pay method for fares on the MRT-3, LRT-1, and LRT-2 train lines, making commuting more convenient for cardholders. Additionally, they can make payments at QRPH-accepting merchants, perform cardless withdrawals at PNC ATMs, and use the card at Bancnet ATMs nationwide.
The partnership between SSS and PNC Bank is championed by key figures such as Finance Secretary and Social Security Commission ex-officio Chair Recto, who has driven reforms within the SSS, and PNC Executive Vice President and Chief Innovations and Inclusion Officer Lito Villanueva, who emphasizes the mission of making social benefits accessible through technology.
The MySSS Card offers rewards for mobile load purchases and bill payments, with loan products planned for future release. To apply, SSS members must log in to the MySSS portal, select PNC DiskarTech as their financial institution, and download the PNC DiskarTech app. A promotional period from September 26 to October 31, 2025, allows eligible applicants to avail themselves of the card for free. The MySSS Card integrates SSS services with the digital banking features of PNC's DiskarTech application, providing a seamless and convenient user experience.
