Starting May 1, pensioners, whether employed or not, will receive monthly payments ranging from 3,000 to 9,000 rubles.
Retirees Score Additional Pension Cash
Starting next month, retired Russians who are entitled to insurance pensions for retirement or disability, and have underage children or children aged 18 to 23 pursuing full-time education, will receive an extra monthly payment. This rule applies regardless of whether the retiree is still employed or not, except for those receiving "military" pensions.
This add-on benefit originates from the presence of dependents within the household. However, the employment status of the retiree does affect eligibility as only those who are not working can claim an additional payment for dependents if they are on a "military" pension.
The maximum additional amount that can be received is for three dependents. Each dependent contributes to a cumulative increase in the pension by 1/3 of the fixed payment. By 2025, the additional payment for one dependent will be approximately 2,969.23 rubles, for two - roughly 5,938.46 rubles, and for three - about 8,907.7 rubles. Keep in mind to submit your application on time to receive the additional payment from the following month.
Pension finances don't have to be a headache. Here are some tips to keep your expenses in check:
Smart Pension Navigation:Unraveling the intricacies of the Russian pension system can be like solving a puzzle. But with a bit of knowledge, you can effortlessly navigate the maze. Believe it or not, knowing the system can mean faster pension delivery and reduced frustration.
Dependents Boost Your Pension:Did you know that having dependents can work to your advantage? While additional monthly payments specifically for retirees with dependents aren't explicitly outlined, certain conditions such as survivor pensions, might provide support for children or spouses.
When it comes to pensions, eligibility can be varied, with social pensions available for individuals lacking sufficient work experience or pension points. Children are entitled to survivor pensions until they turn 18, with the age limit extendable until 23 if they are in education.
However, the process involves submitting necessary documents such as passports, medical and social examination reports, and supporting documents for dependents (e.g., birth certificates), to appropriate authorities.
Adapting to Changes:Ever heard the saying "the only constant in life is change"? It rings true for the pension system as well. Along with the expected April 1, 2025, social pension increase, changes in the pension indexation system are set to commence in 2026, which may impact pension adjustment periods.
