Sun Life Singapore introduces "Making Lives Brighter" report

Sun Life Singapore, the local branch of the Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada, has made significant strides in its philanthropic efforts and insurance solutions. In 2024, the Sun Life Singapore Philanthropic Pledge was extended to include SunBrilliance Whole Life and SunBrilliance Indexed Universal Life II.

The company's first Social Impact Report, titled "Making Lives Brighter," offers a detailed look into its philanthropic achievements. The report, which can be viewed here, details Sun Life Singapore's efforts in diabetes prevention, mental wellness, and active living. Since establishing its office in Singapore in 2020, Sun Life Singapore has contributed over S$1.2 million to local philanthropic initiatives.

In a move to further enhance its social impact, Sun Life Singapore plans to expand its focus in 2025 to include programs that strengthen financial literacy and resilience. This expansion aims to support more than 42,000 beneficiaries in living healthier lives.

With each purchase of selected SunBrilliance insurance products, Sun Life Singapore donates 0.5% of the premiums received, with a cap of US$20,000 per policy, to charity. The SunBrilliance Whole Life insurance solution, an innovation from Sun Life Singapore, is an enhancement to its existing Future - S whole life insurance solution.

Meanwhile, in the realm of renewable energy, the Australia-Asia PowerLink has reached another milestone. The Integrated Project Delivery Team (IPDT) has been announced, consisting of Bechtel, Hatch, Marsh, PwC Australia, and SMEC (a member of the Surbana Jurong Group). This AUD30+ Billion project aims to supply renewable electricity to Darwin and Singapore.

Christopher Albrecht, Chief Executive Officer of Sun Life Singapore, stated that the company aims to support over 42,000 beneficiaries to live healthier lives. The second Sun Life Asia Financial Resilience Index reveals that while overall perceptions of financial resilience have improved, there is still a significant gap between individuals' expectations and their actual preparedness for financial shocks.

As Sun Life Singapore continues to grow and evolve, it remains committed to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals in Singapore and beyond. For more information, visit the Sun Life Singapore website.
