Something in the sky resembles a bird, resembles a plane, but upon closer inspection, it's revealed to be a car?!

Surprisingly soaring through the skies, it's not a feathered wonder or a superhero, but a vehicle - you read that right, a car!

In an unusual incident that took place on March 3, at 12:33, a Volkswagen Passat without registration plates was reported on the road connecting Ārciems, Puikule, Urga, and Braslava in Brīvzemnieku parish, Limbaži municipality.

Upon investigation, it was found that the vehicle was in poor technical condition, missing a front-side door, trunk lid, rear seats, and registration plates. The vehicle also had very few headlights and an obvious lack of seatbelts.

The driver of the vehicle, who was found to not possess a valid driving licence, was issued a fine of €345 for the offenses. Despite the missing trunk, the vehicle was found to contain cargo that was not secured in any way.

The police decided to seize the VW Passat due to the offenses committed. The driver stated that he was on his way to a shop, possibly to purchase spare parts.

In total, nine administrative proceedings were initiated against the driver in connection with this incident. This serves as a reminder for all drivers to ensure their vehicles are roadworthy and to always possess a valid driving licence.

  1. The apparent neglect towards safety regulations in the automotive industry, as showcased by the unregistered Volkswagen Passat, raises concerns, especially in the context of the transportation sector and its impact on public safety.
  2. The incident involving the poorly maintained vehicle on the Ārciems, Puikule, Urga, and Braslava road raised a question about the condition of vehicles in the used automotive market and the need for proper inspections, particularly in the finance and media industries.
  3. The sudden halt of a sports career due to a serious accident could potentially be prevented with stricter enforcement of vehicle safety regulations in the transportation sector, following the example set by the seizure of the unregistered Volkswagen Passat in Brīvzemnieku parish, Limbaži municipality.
