Tesla has unveiled the refreshed Model Y for the European market, dubbed the 2025 Juniper facelift. This updated version comes with a host of improvements, including an 8-inch rear-seat touchscreen, powered rear seats, upgraded suspension, ambient lighting, and a new color option called "Glacier Blue."

Performance enhancements include more efficient motors leading to faster acceleration and optimized charging, alongside a range increase in the long-range version from 428 to 447 miles (about 688 to 719 km).

A Budget-Friendly Option

Tesla has also introduced a new budget-oriented "E41" Model Y variant aimed at Europe. This version strips back premium features to potentially lower the price below £40,000. The E41 variant omits the front and rear LED light bars, panoramic glass roof, ventilated and heated seats, heated steering wheel, rear touchscreen, and advanced ambient lighting. It replaces vegan leather with textile seats and reduces the audio system, while retaining core safety features, Autopilot, and Supercharger access.

Pricing and Availability

The 2025 Launch Series Model Y in North America started around $60,000, reflecting the extensive upgrades. European pricing for the Juniper facelift is expected to align with a premium positioning except for the budget E41 variant, which targets a significantly lower entry price.

The new Model Y will initially be offered in a single variant: LR AWD with a large battery. The old Model Y will continue to be offered until further variants of the revised Model Y are available.

New Features and Design

The new Model Y features a precision-made turn signal lever on the left side of the steering wheel. Its design resembles the Model 3 Highland at the front. The new Model Y also comes with continuous light strips at the front and rear, improving aerodynamics.

Notable differences between the old and new Model Y include the return of the turn signal lever, the inclusion of a trailer hitch, 20-inch wheels, and acceleration improvement in the initial batch of the new Model Y. The old Model Y, on the other hand, delivers a different acceleration time compared to the new Model Y (5.0 seconds).

The new Model Y's turn signal lever operates in addition to buttons on the steering wheel and the screen. The colors Black and QuickSilver are included in the initial batch of the new Model Y, which usually cost €2,200 extra.

In conclusion, the 2025 Juniper refresh in Europe offers a significant evolution in design, technology, and model variety aimed at broadening Model Y appeal and affordability. Orders for the revised Model Y are now being accepted, with deliveries set to begin in March.
