Thomas W. Jones and The Very Rev. Cynthia Briggs Kittredge have been appointed to the Church Pension Fund Board of Trustees, with Kittredge taking on the role of vice chair.
In a recent development, The Church Pension Fund (CPF) has announced the election of two distinguished individuals to its Board of Trustees.
Firstly, Dean Kittredge, a renowned biblical scholar, has been elected to the Board. Kittredge is a contributor to esteemed works such as The New Oxford Annotated Bible and Women's Bible Commentary. Currently serving as the assisting priest at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Austin, Texas, Kittredge's scholarly contributions extend beyond the pulpit. She is the author of several books, including Conversations with Scripture: The Gospel of John, Community and Authority: The Rhetoric of Obedience in the Pauline Tradition, and A Lot of the Way Trees Were Walking: Poems from the Gospel of Mark. Kittredge is also the coeditor of the Fortress Commentary on the Bible: The New Testament and has collaborated on other significant works like The Bible in the Public Square: Reading the Signs of the Times and Walk in the Ways of Wisdom: Essays in Honor of Elisabeth Schüssler Fiorenza.
Prior to her service at the seminary, Kittredge taught at Harvard University and the College of the Holy Cross. She holds a MDiv, ThM, and ThD from Harvard and a BA from Williams College.
Joining Kittredge on the CPF's Board of Trustees is Thomas W. Jones. Before his retirement in January 2025, Jones held the position of Chief Executive Officer of Global Investment Management at Citigroup. Jones' financial expertise extends beyond the corporate world, as he is also the founder and former senior partner of venture capital investment firm TWJ Capital LLC.
In addition to his business accomplishments, Jones has served on the corporate boards of directors of Assured Guaranty Ltd. and Jefferies Financial Group. He is also the author of the memoir "From Willard Straight to Wall Street" (2019). Notably, Jones has been designated a Board Governance Fellow by the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD).
The CPF, an organisation that provides retirement, health, life insurance, and related benefits for clergy and lay employees of The Episcopal Church, has also elected The Very Rev. Cynthia Briggs Kittredge as a Vice Chair of its Board of Trustees. Cynthia Briggs Kittredge, who is the Dean Emerita of the Seminary of the Southwest, was appointed Dean of the Seminary in 2013.
These esteemed individuals bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the CPF's Board of Trustees, ensuring the continued success and growth of the organisation in serving the clergy and lay employees of The Episcopal Church.
