Title: CES 2025: Sizzling Innovations in Smart Cooking

The 2025 Consumer Electronics Show began this week, bringing tech giants together in Las Vegas to showcase their cutting-edge innovations. Among the various sectors, smart cooking has emerged as a significant focus, with numerous brands integrating AI capabilities to uplevel cooking experiences.

In this sphere, Brisk It, a company known for outdoor grills, made headlines with its new offering, Brisk It Vera. The AI technology within the grill enables users to scan their pantry via an app, suggesting recipes based on the available ingredients. You can even provide pictures from Instagram, and it will help you recreate the dish. For more traditional cooks, the grill also allows inputting basic requirements such as the number of people and specialized dietary needs.

Brisk It also introduced its more affordable option, the Zelos 450, priced at $399. Existing pro models, the Origin 940 and Origin 580, will have software upgrades to integrate with Vera. The new model boasts high performance and compatibility with the AI software while still offering options for seasoned chefs who prefer manual control.

Brisk It's founder and CEO, Christopher Huang, explained that the grill's AI capabilities can range from completely automating the cooking process to simply providing suggestions and notifications as needed, ensuring there's a level of control for every cook. The device can temperature control between 165°F (grilled) and up to 500°F (seared), as well as recognize cooking errors and adapt the cook accordingly to maintain quality.

Dreo ChefMaker, an existing brand known for portable heaters and fans, has entered the kitchen appliance market with a flagship product, the ChefMaker Combi Fryer. The smart appliance combines sous vide features with an air fryer basket, providing endless options for protein and personal preferences. Its patent-pending water mist and steam capabilities retain meat moisture and seal in flavor, while the incorporated scanning technology allows for easy monitoring of cooking progress.

At CES 2025, Dreo unveiled the ChefMaker 2—an upgrade that includes AI integration, a more compact design, along with a more significant capacity to cook various portions. The original ChefMaker will receive a software update to integrate AI features after its initial release.

Agari, a company that combines steam, pressure, and AI, debuts its mini-vault appliance, which uses infrared temperature sensors and cameras to detect the type and size of your food. The AI technology then calculates the appropriate cook time and temperature. The resulting cook process provides a professional-quality dish in half the time required by traditional sous vide, air fryer, or pressure cookers.

Following the product's Kickstarter launch in April, the Agari will hit commercial markets.

Lastly, Chef iQ unveiled the iQ Mini Oven at CES 2025, which is simple to operate or fully integrated with a smart app to assist in cooking various dishes. The mini oven offers various settings for Air Fry, Broil, Toast, Reheat, and more while maintaining an elegant, space-saving design.

Although it might seem like a minimal kitchen appliance, Chef iQ provides a sliding scale for adjusting the ‘golden’ level for toasted bread or bagels. The edge-to-edge glass door offers excellent visibility while the meal cooks, and adjustable interior lights direct placement of the metal tray. The iQ Sense probes, which need to be purchased separately, monitor internal temperatures for optimal cooking results and are charged in a speaker-equipped case to notify you when done.
