Toyota Introduces Adventure Lineup for Surfing, Cruising, Off-roading, Tail-Gating, and Drifting at SEMA024
Toyota is making a splash at this year's Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show with an array of innovative builds and lifestyle-enhanced models. Mike Tripp, group vice president of Toyota Division Marketing, emphasised the brand's aim to amplify performance and adventure at the event.
The RAV-X Concept, a collaboration between Toyota's SPAD team and the Dakar Rally, is one of the highlights. This off-road vehicle is inspired by the gruelling rally and aims to enhance the RAV4's off-road potential for thrill-seeking enthusiasts.
The 2024 Toyota booth is divided into zones, each highlighting a specific lifestyle, such as off-roading, camping, rally racing, or tailgating. Each zone showcases unique vehicles and accessories that cater to these lifestyles.
Key features of the 2024 lineup include the TRD Forged Billet Upper Control Arm Kit, a suspension component that enhances durability and performance for off-road use. The 4Runner TRD Surf Concept, designed for adventure and rugged surf lifestyles, includes 2.5-inch FOX Internal Bypass QS3 shocks with rear piggyback-style remote reservoirs for enhanced damping and improved ride quality over rough surfaces.
The GR86 Rally Legacy Concept, while light on specific details, is a rally-focused GR86 that pays homage to Toyota's rallying roots. The legacy designation likely emphasises heritage-inspired styling and components tracing back to Toyota’s historical rally cars.
Other notable builds include the Modellista's Overland Vision Concept for the Land Cruiser, the CALTY Land Cruiser ROX, the 4Runner TRD Surf Concept, the Classic Adventure Cruiser, the Ultimate Tailgate Tundra, and the TRD Forged Billet Upper Control Arm Kit for 4Runner and FJ Cruiser.
The #84 Tacoma TRD ProRunner Race Concept, co-designed with Toyota's Jimmie Johnson, is a Baja-ready Tacoma in a "mud bath" theme, equipped with race-ready features for desert dominance. The Suprabird Tribute, a GR Supra vehicle, pays homage to NASCAR legend Richard Petty, featuring Petty Blue livery, a custom aero kit, and the iconic style of Petty's '69 Superbird.
The 94 Toyota Drift Truck is a pink-themed, drift-ready build that combines American minitruck and Japanese drift culture. The final entry, the Suprabird Tribute, is a GR Supra vehicle that honours NASCAR legend Richard Petty, featuring Petty Blue livery, a custom aero kit, and the iconic style of Petty's '69 Superbird.
It's important to note that these builds are prototypes, loaded with modifications that may not be available or street-legal.
