Toyota Kirloskar Motor registers a 3% increase in sales during July 2025, despite fierce market competition
In the bustling automotive market of India, Toyota is gearing up for an exciting 2025 with a lineup of new SUVs and a renewed emphasis on safety and hybrid technology.
The upcoming Toyota lineup includes new SUVs based on the Maruti Escudo hybrid and electric e Vitara models, expected by late 2025. These models will boast advanced safety features such as Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), 4WD, powered tailgate, and Dolby Atmos integration, enhancing both safety and comfort.
The Toyota Escudo-based SUV is set to compete in the midsize segment, offering features similar to the Hyundai Creta but with potentially better boot space and equipped with mild-hybrid and hybrid powertrains for improved fuel efficiency and safer driving aids.
Toyota's commitment to hybrid innovations and safety technologies is evident across its range, from the Urban Cruiser Hyryder to the Innova Crysta. The Urban Cruiser Hyryder is now available for ₹ 11.34 Lakhs, while the Innova Hycross, which was recently awarded a 5-star safety rating under the Bharat NCAP, can be purchased for ₹ 19.94 Lakhs.
The Toyota Glanza, a popular choice in the premium hatchback segment, has also received an upgrade, now offering six airbags as standard across all variants. This enhancement aims to appeal to safety-conscious buyers and further strengthen Toyota's presence in the market.
Toyota's strategies seem to be paying off, as evidenced by the 3% growth in July 2025, with 32,575 units sold. The year-to-date performance for Toyota for the first seven months of 2025 was also a 14% increase, with 2,07,460 units sold.
Moreover, the Limited Edition Prestige Packages for Toyota Glanza and Urban Cruiser Hyryder have received a favorable market response.
Looking ahead, Renault is expected to enter the market with the Bigster, an upcoming car priced between ₹ 13 - 18 Lakhs.
As Toyota continues to innovate and invest in safety and hybrid technology, it remains to be seen how these strategies will contribute to its anticipated sales growth in the coming months.
The new SUVs based on the Maruti Escudo hybrid and electric e Vitara models, which will showcase advanced safety features and improved fuel efficiency, indicate Toyota's expansion in the automotive industry. As Toyota's focus on hybrid technology and safety technologies continues to grow, the finance sector anticipates increased revenue from vehicle sales in the forecasted period.
