U.S.-bound shipment of organic coconut sugar from Trà Vinh's OCOP program reaches American soil

In an exciting leap for the Mekong Delta province of Tra Vinh, the first shipment of high-grade organic coconut sugar has made its way to the US. This historic export, worth more than 7 tonnes, was proudly produced by the trailblazing company, Sokfarm.

According to Sokfarm's CEO, Pham Dinh Ngaï, this sugar is a goldmine derived from the delicate nectar of fresh coconut blossoms. Each kilogram of sugar is painstakingly crafted using a generous eight liters of nectar and advanced low-temperature technology, ensuring the preservation of the nectar's inherent minerals and nutrients [1][2][3].

The initial exported batch will enrich the nutritional food sector in the US, particularly catering to energy bars and health-conscious baked goods [1][2].

Established in 2019, Sokfarm is a frontrunner in the production of premium coconut nectar and sugar products. With six core offerings under its belt, all scoring 4- or 5-star certifications from Việt Nam's One Commune One Product (OCOP) program, Sokfarm maintains a 20-hectare organic-certified coconut plantation, meeting the rigorous standards of the USDA, EU, JAS (Japan), and Canada Organic [1][2].

Beyond its own plantation, Sokfarm partners with 35 local farming households in Tiểu Cần district, providing a steady source of raw coconut nectar. To date, Sokfarm's products have graced the shelves of Japan, the Netherlands, Germany, the US, and Australia [1][2].

Tra Vinh currently boasts an impressive roster of 393 OCOP-certified goods, including three 5-star and 46 4-star products. Post-certification, the annual yield and revenue of these coveted products have soared by 30-60% for 5-star products and 20-52% for 4-star products [1][2].
