Ulta appoints long-standing company associate for chief marketing position

Ulta Beauty's shaking up its top dogs, announcein' Kelly Mahoney as the new Chief Marketing Officer, according to a LinkedIn post the other day. Mahoney's gonna steer the ship, handling the beauty chain's brand strategy, innovation, customer engagement, and growth.

10 years with Ulta under her belt, Kelly's a true believer in the company's culture, passionately driving its brand purpose and unleashing beauty's limitless possibilities for everyone.

She's sliding into the role previously held by Michelle Crossan-Matos, who jumped ship from the Chief Marketer post last month. Ulta's yet to comment on the exact dates that Mahoney stepped in and Crossan-Matos bailed out.

All this C-suite changes happened about a month and a half since Dave Kimbell hung up his CEO hat, with Chief Operating Officer Kecia Steelman takin' the heap. Ulta hasn't named a replacement for Steelman's old spot since then, but Chief Store Operations Officer Amiee Bayer-Thomas got a new title – Chief Retail Officer – back in January. The website also mentions a chief supply chain officer, Erik Lopez, who hopped onto the role last year.

Aside from those moves, Chief Technology and Information Officer Mike Maresca became Chief Technology and Transformation Officer in January. Monica Arnaudo, the Chief Merchandising Officer, plans to retire this spring. Ulta search results even show they replaced the long-standing Chief Financial Officer last year. With all these executive shuffles, Ulta's upper echelon's seein' some serious transformation. Out of the nine C-suite members listed on their website, six joined within the last year.
