Upcoming Actor Recruitment Suggests 'Mayor of Kingstown' Season 4 Is Underway
Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 hasn't been officially confirmed yet, but a casting call for background actors for Jeremy Renner's crime drama hints at its return on Paramount+.
The third season of Mayor of Kingstown was uncertain after Renner's near-death encounter with a snowplow on New Year's Day 2023. The actor-producer was tragically run over by a 14,000-pound PistenBully snow groomer, resulting in 30 broken bones, a collapsed lung, and a perforated liver.
Remarkably, Renner bounced back from his injuries and surgeries, not to mention intensive rehabilitation, to film Mayor of Kingstown Season 3 just a year after the accident.
Season 3 ended on a suspenseful note in August, leaving fans curious about the possibility of Season 4.
A report from the Pennsylvania publication Trib Live on Tuesday provided a substantial hint that Season 4 was indeed in the works, based on an extras casting announcement.
The Trib Live report mentioned that the casting call came about a month after the production offices for Mayor of Kingstown—which is filmed in Pittsburgh—reopened in the Steel City last month.
Who's Up for the Role in Mayor of Kingstown Season 4?
According to a post on the Pittsburgh casting company Movie Casting PGH's Facebook page, the casting process for Mayor of Kingstown will take place from now until May, when filming for Season 4 is set to wrap up.

Set in the fictional city of Kingstown, Michigan, Mayor of Kingstown follows Mike McLusky (played by Jeremy Renner), a former convict-turned-powerful intermediary between law enforcement and outside criminals. He bridges the gap between prison guards and inmates.
The Movie Casting PGH website's announcement for Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 extras calls for "kids, teens, adults of all ethnicities" to portray various characters, including downtown locals, SWAT/FBI/COP types, inmates, diner patrons, gang members, babies and fictional characters.
The production for Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 is scheduled to commence on January 15, 2025, and will run through late May 2025.
Created by Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, Mayor of Kingstown features an ensemble cast, including Dillon, Taylor Handley, Necar Zadegan, Hamish Allan-Headley, Nishi Munshi, and Tobi Bamtefa. The show suffered the loss of two key characters during the finale of Season 3, portrayed by Michael Beach and Emma Laird.
Following Renner's miraculous return for Mayor of Kingstown in January 2024, Necar Zadegan—who plays District Attorney Evelyn Foley—declared the third season as a "celebration" in a Zoom conversation due to Renner's recovery and return to the series.
One of Renner's co-stars, Tobi Bamtefa, who plays Bunny Washington, a gang leader and uneasy ally of Mike McLusky, expressed his admiration for Renner's tenacity and strength in a Zoom conversation.
“The very fact that he’s on set and able to handle the workload with such ease after what he’s been through is just a testament to his resilience and strength as an individual and as a professional. It’s truly inspiring to work with someone like that,” said Bamtefa in a Zoom call.
