Automotive Supplier from Remscheid Files for Insolvency - Winning BLW Files for Insolvency, Aims to Save 500 Jobs

Remscheid-based auto parts supplier Winning BLW has filed for insolvency at the Wuppertal district court. The company, which also operates in Duisburg and Penzberg, aims to secure around 500 jobs and continue operations without restrictions through a restructuring under self-administration.

The insolvency, attributed to a challenging automotive market and decreased sales, does not currently impact business operations. Wages and salaries are secured until the end of the year through insolvency benefits. Lawyer Jan Groß serves as the general representative, and Jens Schmidt is the provisional trustee.

Winning BLW produces a range of components, including bevel and shift gears, steering pinions, and parts for engines, gearboxes, and drive axles. It remains unclear whether another group company, Winning BLW Management GmbH, will also seek insolvency, potentially affecting around 400 employees.

The insolvency filing allows Winning BLW to reposition itself and secure jobs. The company continues to operate normally, with wages guaranteed until the end of the year. The future of another group company and its employees remains uncertain.
