WWE Saturday Night Main Event Outcome: Drew McIntyre Emerges Victorious Against Sami Zayn

Drew McIntyre made a furious return to WWE's Saturday Night's Main Event, decimating his long-time adversary Sami Zayn as he sets his sights on dismantling The OG Bloodline member by member.

The ex-three-time world champ unexpectedly resurfaced on Raw a few weeks back to stir up trouble with Zayn and embark on his vendetta against the faction that thwarted his world title bid in 2022. If his sudden comeback appeared out of the blue, that's because it was. McIntyre reportedly popped up earlier than anticipated, thanks to Bronson Reed undergoing a serious injury at Survivor Series WarGames.

Now, Reed is projected to miss WrestleMania 41, and it's interesting to note that McIntyre has slid right into Reed's role as the most dominant heel presence on Raw.

McIntyre's initial casualty? Zayn, who is affiliated with Roman Reigns and The OG Bloodline – a faction that McIntyre has vowed to eradicate bit by bit. The Scotsman has zeroed in on anyone even vaguely connected to Reigns, the one who in 2022 emerged as McIntyre's biggest challenge for his WWE title reign but ultimately came up short.

Indeed, McIntyre harbors quite a grudge, don't you think.

The finest pro wrestling villains are those that have just cause for their actions, and trust me, McIntyre more than earns his stripes in his campaign against The OG Bloodline. In fact, he's already knocked out Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, and now Zayn. A number of main roster stars, from Cody Rhodes to Kevin Owens, have felt the Heatlords' wrath, making McIntyre's pursuit of retribution an understandable one.

McIntyre continues his methodical dismantling of The Bloodline with Zayn, whose beef with the former three-time world champ dates back over a year. At times, it seemed like McIntyre vs. Zayn was destined for a major pay-per-view, perhaps at an event like SummerSlam, but unfortunately, that never materialized. Saturday Night’s Main Event proved to be the perfect setting for their face-off instead.

Within the confines of the Nassau Coliseum, McIntyre clinched the victory over Zayn with a crushing Claymore kick, a welcome success for McIntyre following his last televised bout, which resulted in a defeat at the hands of CM Punk within Hell in a Cell. That clash was widely hailed as WWE's finest match of 2024, and it further cemented McIntyre's outstanding villainous run over the previous year.

It was practically a foregone conclusion that McIntyre would succumb to Punk, which means that WWE has a great deal of work cut out for it in order to resurrect McIntyre as a leading heel once again post his temporary hiatus. WWE is well on its way to achieving that goal, though.

McIntyre is once again generating heat on Raw, and with WWE's "transfer window" opening soon, he may be on the verge of a shift to SmackDown, which could elevate him even further on the card. Numerous high-profile names are expected to migrate to Raw in preparation for its move to Netflix, so a jump to the blue brand seems advantageous for McIntyre.

For now, however, McIntyre should remain a significant thorn in The OG Bloodline's side as he strives to dismantle it.

Zayn is the first Bloodline member McIntyre has vanquished since his resurgence. So, who's next for McIntyre?

WWE Saturday Night's Main Event results saw Drew McIntyre defeating Sami Zayn, furthering his vendetta against the OG Bloodline member. In WWE Saturday Night's Main Event 2024, McIntyre continued his quest to dismantle The OG Bloodline, setting his sights on drawing out draws with other members, just like he did with drew mcintyre and sami zayn in WWE and WWE Saturday Nights Main Event.
