From the Vices to the Virtues: Gaming Laboratories International's Shift in Leadership

Gaming Laboratories International (GLI), the pioneer in land-based, lottery, and iGaming testing and assessment services, is on a roll with a series of promotions within its ranks. following the promotion of Andrea Bossard to Vice President of Engineering back in January, the company recently announced the promotion of Zachary Kastelic.

Rising Up the Ranks: Zachary Kastelic's Ascension

In a recent press release, GLI confirmed that Kastelic, who was previously Associate General Counsel, has been promoted to the position of Vice President of Legal.

Taking on this new role, the executive will oversee GLI's legal department, ensuring they navigate the complex, global gaming landscape with agility and precision.

Kastelic's responsibilities will encompass general corporate matters, litigation, due diligence, strategic processes, contacts, and communication.

His journey with GLI began in 2022 when he was appointed as Assistant Corporate Counsel. Prior to his most recent appointment, he was already in a senior-level role as Associate General Counsel.

Before joining GLI, Kastelic was employed by PlayUp Limited, where he served as Vice President of Compliance.

Given his background, it's no surprise that Kastelic brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He holds a J.D. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law and a Bachelor's Degree from Ottawa University.

Moreover, Kastelic has a Sports Wagering and Integrity Certificate from UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law. He is a member of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri, the Missouri Bar Association, and the Kansas Bar Association.

James Maida, GLI's President and CEO, expressed his delight about the latest promotion. "Compliance is our primary responsibility to the global gaming industry, and our legal team, alongside with our compliance teams, are at the forefront of our compliance efforts," he explained.

Maida further added, "I am very pleased that Zachary will be leading our global legal team helping to ensure we maintain the very highest levels of compliance as we continue to lead the industry in new technologies."

The gaming industry is no stranger to regulatory challenges, and with Kastelic at the helm of the legal department, GLI seems well-equipped to tackle these hurdles effectively.

Lastly, GLI announced that its 25th Regulators Roundtable will take place at Palms Las Vegas on April 16, 2025.
